Industrial hemp and medicine
By revealing the delta-9 tetrahidrocannabinol in 1964, hemp becomes a popular theme in scientific circles. Since then the number of scientific research on the topic of industrial hemp and its constituents (cannabinoids) is rapidly growing. On basis of certain discoveries on its therapeutical potential some states have developed a programme for hemp medicinal uses. Regarding the fact, it is crucial that the patients that use herbal medicines receive the product of guaranteed quality, approved efficacy and safety. It is essential to establish quality standards for its control, usage and futher processing. The first one that conducted the research of hemp medical properties was William O’Shaughnessy in 1840. His first observations referred to the usage of medicines based on the Indian hemp in order to cure rabies, rheumatic diseases, epilepsy and tetanus. In the next few decades hemp has rapidly spread all over Europe and the United STates which led to the inclusion of hemp in the international pharmacopoeia.
Therapeutical usage of medicine hemp
Multiple sclerosis, cancer curing, AIDS, glaucoma, depression, epilepsy, migraine, headache, asthma, itching, scleroderma, dystonia, insomnia, used as a disinfectant and wound treating, curing herpes and nausea. in addition, it is used to relieve the side effects of ADHD, drug addiction, Alzheimer’s disease, bipolar disorder, burns, cistic fibrosis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, diabetes, eczema, fibromyalgia, inflammatory bowel disease, Parkinson’s disease.
Hemp leaves tea
Almost every plant can be used for making tea. The same goes for hemp tea that can be made of every part of this plant – leaves, buds, seeds, stem and even from its root but it is mostly made of dried leaves of young and old hemp plant. Young plant has a higher level of vitamins and a lower level of CBD while older plants have higher levels of CBD. Hemp leaves tea can help to streghten the immune system, to improve the state of respiratory organs, to fight high blood pressure and tu reduce pain. It is also possible to make hemp root tea. The procedure is a bit more complicate but it ends with drying the root, as well. Hemp root tea is used for ages as a medicine for postpartum bleeding, gout, joint problems, high temperature but also as a diuretic. Hemp root contains a lot of beneficial chemical compounds that were proven to reduce inflammation, destroy bacteria and that strenghten cell membranes. The preparation of hemp tea is very similar to the preparation of any other tea. Add 1 or 2 tea spoons of tea in 2 dcl of hot water. Leave it to brew 3-5 minutes, depending on the strength of the tea you prefer. Hemp tea has a quite mild taste whose taste you can adjust by adding some kind of sweetener, milk or lemon juice. For the perfect therapeutical efficiency you can add a piece of butter, a spoon of cream or a couple of oil drops at the beginning of its brewing. It enhances solubility and the absorption of cannabinoid. To gain the maximum effect, it is recommended to add 1-2 drops of CBD oi in your tea. You can consume the tea twice or three times a day. It has no psychoactive effects, it is not toxic and has no side effects. CBD helps you to restore a good night’s sleep, facilitates normal joint and cartilage function, relieves nausea and relaxes the body.
